Performance – standards

Our children work diligently at Gomer and we are proud that we ensure a balanced and broad curriculum alongside preparing our learners for their end of KS2 SATs. We are required by legislation to publish specific information in relation to our end of year results. We are continually striving to improve these standards. You may be interested to know that of all Gosport schools, we had the best reading results. Our performance information is as follows:

Please note, of 60 pupils, 58 completed the SATs. 2 children were considered ‘below the level of the test’ and therefore were not entered. Please note, they are still included in the statistics (3.2%)  despite not completing the tests.

Average Progress

  1. Our READING progress score, from KS1 – KS2 is 2.4 (with a confidence interval 0.8 – 4.0).
  2. Our WRITING progress score is 3.7 (with a confidence interval of 2.1 – 5.3)
  3. Our MATHEMATICS progress score is 0.2 (with a confidence interval of -1.2 – 1.6.

Progress scores have been centred around 0, with most schools performing within the range of  -5 to 5. A positive score (all of our results) means that pupils at Gomer Junior School on average, do better at KS2 compared with those of similar prior attainment nationally.

We are rightly proud of this. We will continue to strive to improve upon standards.

All children are given a raw score for their test which is then converted to a scaled score. The expected standards score is a scaled score of 100. Gomer Junior is above the expected standard.

8% of pupils achieved a ‘high level of attainment’ in reading, writing and maths combined. It is important to note than the national average is 5%. 1. 80% of our pupils achieved Level 4 or above in reading, writing and maths.

2. Pupils making age related expectations (Level 4) in each subject is recorded at:

3. In relation to reading:

53% of our pupils achieved Level 5 or above

4. In relation to writing:

47% achieved Level 5 or above

5. In relation to maths:

40% of our pupils achieved Level 5 or above and 10% achieved Level 6.

2014 Performance Information

1. 88% of our pupils achieved Level 4 or above in reading, writing and maths.

2. Pupils making expected progress in each subject is recorded at:

58% of our pupils achieved Level 5 or above

47% achieved Level 5 or above
