Transition – all change

Our three transition days are a super opportunity for the children to get to know their new teacher ahead of September. This year, every class in the school has been mixed a little. Due to us being a two form entry there are limited options for mixing but multiple factors to consider. Yesterday, the children practised lining-up in their new class line with their new class teacher. This week is good preparation for when children go to secondary school – our Y6 children start transition day today not knowing which classes they will be in will find themselves joining  25 children from other schools. Our school mixing helps to build the skills necessary to manage such a situation – resilience, independence and determination. Your child’s new teacher will ensure that the children have a super few days and looks forward to getting to know them. Please trust that the school will support any child who may find transition to a new year group unsettling. Change can be difficult for some but we are confident that any feelings of uncertainty will pass by the end of the week.
