Gomer sent a team of eight excited cricketers off to Privett Park on Wednesday 12 June, to take part in the Gosport Cricket Festival, alongside four other teams from schools across the town. Each team played each other once, and whoever came out on top would be awarded the title of Gosport Champions and have the opportunity to represent the town at the Hampshire Bowl next month.
Gomer started against Peel Common, and never looked back – winning all four games they played to end the festival victorious! The girls combined great bowling, with superb fielding and explosive batting to sweep all other teams aside and progress to the next round. Manager Mr Willis and Assistant Manager Mrs McDermott were very proud of all eight girls for their teamwork and effort all day. Go Gomer!
