Team Gomer were massively impressed with the response to our advert for the following positions of responsibility in our school for our Y6 pupils to apply for:
- Head Boy and Head Girl
- Deputy Head Boy and Head Girl
- Gomer Reps
- Office Team
- Site Assistants
- Sports Committee
Of our 60 strong Y6 cohort 48 pupils applied for a position and the applications made were incredibly creative, detailed and well presented. We are delighted that the children are so very proud of their school. Each child who applied for a position has received a personalised letter from our Head Teacher, a Head Teacher Award and a badge to mark their new responsibility (some to follow).
A gallery outlining the children’s responsibilities will be proudly displayed in the office very soon. For now, we are delighted to introduce our pupil Heads of School. Today, our new Heads, ahead of their positions being announced to the whole school, completed their first job which was sharing our gSTEM learning with Caroline Dinengage MP. They took her into class and chatted about the importance of STEM, digital skills and Thinking Like and Engineer. We were delighted our STEM Ambassador, Professor Adrian Oldknow spent time talking with the children too. With thanks to Caroline for supporting STEM developments across The GFM.
